Minimum Requirements:

  • A grade 12 or Matric certificate.
  • National Diploma in Human Resources Development/Management or Administration at NQF Level 6.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent (NQF Level 7 qualification in the above-mentioned fields) will be an added advantage.

The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is a Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) that facilitates skills development under the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) and supports mine health and safety under the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) for the mining and minerals sector under Skills Development Act (SDA) 97 of 1998 and Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) 29 of 1996, respectively.

The MQA would like to invite qualifying individuals to apply for an internship opportunity within its Learning Programmes Operations Unit. Unemployed individuals who have never participated in an internship programme are invited to apply. The successful intern will be appointed for a period of twenty-four (24) months.

This opportunity is available to South African Citizens only.

Reporting to the Senior Manager: Learning Programmes, the successful candidate will be expected to actively participate and gain exposure in the following areas:

  • Administration, in relation to artisan and non- artisans learnerships.
  • Enrolment in the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Foundational Learning Competence (FLC), Adult Education and Training (AET), Artisan Aides, 

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), and Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) projects.

  • Receive, evaluate, and register learning programmes agreements for artisan and non- artisans learnerships.
  • Scanning and uploading of agreements on SIMS (the MQA’s Management Information System).
  • Providing customer service to internal and external stakeholders in accordance with the MQA’s customer service standards.
  • Organizing events including meetings and workshops for the Learning Programmes Unit.
  • Liaising and maintaining relationships with various MQA stakeholders.
  • Assisting with travel arrangements for the Learning Programmes Unit.
  • Filing and document control.
  • Performing any other tasks delegated by the Senior Learning Programmes Manager Operations and the Learning Programmes Managers in the Operations Unit.
