About the Role
Join CANSA and make a tangible impact on national sporting events while driving fundraising and volunteer engagement. This permanent position is ideal for a proactive, innovative professional with a passion for sports and community development.
What You’ll Do
- Lead fundraising and income generation for National Sporting Events
- Onboard and manage new national sporting events
- Coordinate and manage volunteers
- Develop, market, and sell merchandise
- Build relationships within the sporting fraternity
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 / NC(V) Level 4
- Qualification in Sports Management and/or Events Management is advantageous
Experience:
- Proven experience in fundraising/income generation
- Exposure to the sporting events landscape and industry networks is beneficial
- Knowledge of Western Cape geography, sporting events, and business networks
- Experience in merchandise development, marketing, and sales is an added advantage
Skills & Competencies:
- Innovative thinker with strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities
- Resilience and emotional maturity in a target-driven environment
- Project management and ability to deliver on targets
- Analytical skills: cost-benefit analysis, forecasting, and research
- Administrative & coordination skills: attention to detail, time management
- Interpersonal relationship building: teamwork, stakeholder engagement, self-motivated
- Exceptional written & verbal communication: proposal/report writing, presentations, facilitation
- Marketing & communications: social media proficiency
- IT proficiency: Microsoft Office, Internet-based applications, database management
- Valid Code 8 driver’s licence and own transport
- Willingness to work weekends
- Non-smoker
