About the Role

Join CANSA and make a tangible impact on national sporting events while driving fundraising and volunteer engagement. This permanent position is ideal for a proactive, innovative professional with a passion for sports and community development.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead fundraising and income generation for National Sporting Events
  • Onboard and manage new national sporting events
  • Coordinate and manage volunteers
  • Develop, market, and sell merchandise
  • Build relationships within the sporting fraternity


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 / NC(V) Level 4
  • Qualification in Sports Management and/or Events Management is advantageous

Experience:

  • Proven experience in fundraising/income generation
  • Exposure to the sporting events landscape and industry networks is beneficial
  • Knowledge of Western Cape geography, sporting events, and business networks
  • Experience in merchandise development, marketing, and sales is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies:

  • Innovative thinker with strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities
  • Resilience and emotional maturity in a target-driven environment
  • Project management and ability to deliver on targets
  • Analytical skills: cost-benefit analysis, forecasting, and research
  • Administrative & coordination skills: attention to detail, time management
  • Interpersonal relationship building: teamwork, stakeholder engagement, self-motivated
  • Exceptional written & verbal communication: proposal/report writing, presentations, facilitation
  • Marketing & communications: social media proficiency
  • IT proficiency: Microsoft Office, Internet-based applications, database management
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s licence and own transport
  • Willingness to work weekends
  • Non-smoker
