Key Responsibilities

  • Register patients on SAP, RIS, and SAP-HIS systems
  • Admit, discharge, and transfer patients; manage downtime capturing
  • Capture accurate and complete patient data (manual & electronic)
  • Classify patients correctly and follow up on outstanding accounts
  • Request and follow up on required patient documentation
  • Book patients for follow-up and subsequent visits
  • Compile and submit statistics and reports timeously
  • Safekeep patient records in line with Records Management Acts & PAIA
  • Order stock and assist with general administrative duties
  • Rotate and relieve in other departments when required
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with PMDS requirements


Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • At least 1 year functional experience in a hospital environment
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office essential)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Client orientation and customer focus
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rotational shifts
  • Willingness to work after hours, night duty, weekends, and public holidays
  • Prepared to undergo medical surveillance

Added Advantages

  • Experience using PAAB or HIS systems
  • Computer certificate
  • Proficiency in more than two official languages
  • Knowledge of:
    • Patient administration prescripts
    • PFMA, Treasury Regulations, Public Service Acts
    • UPFS, PAIA, National Archives Act, National Core Standards
