Role Purpose
To assist the Executive Chef in the effective running of the kitchen by supporting administrative, operational, and food production activities, while gaining hands-on experience in hospitality management and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Food Production & Operations
- Prepare and produce food in line with set standards
- Control and manage stock levels
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, hygiene, and maintenance standards
Administration & Quality Systems
- Perform administrative duties within the department
- Support implementation of International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) requirements
- Participate and contribute towards ISO processes
Customer Service
- Provide professional customer service
- Maintain positive customer relations
Leadership & Behavioural Expectations
- Train and support employees within the department
- Apply sound time management and performance management principles
- Demonstrate ethical conduct and moral standards
- Perform effectively under pressure
- Maintain a pleasant, professional disposition
Knowledge & Skills Required

Minimum Requirements
Qualification
- National Diploma / National N Diploma in Catering Management or Hospitality
- Catering Services / Hotel School Qualification at NQF Level 6 (240 credits)
