Driver (6-Month Fixed Term Contract)

Main Purpose of the Job:
To provide a reliable and courteous transportation service to staff and participants with safety as a top priority; to provide a communication link between participants and staff; and to operate and maintain assigned vehicles.

Key Performance Areas
- Transport study staff, documents, and specimens from local clinics to the site
- Collect stock as required
- Find participants who are “lost to follow-up” and provide reports
- Fuel vehicles
- Maintain a logbook for distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Prepare accident and incident reports as necessary
- Provide other services as requested by management when not engaged in transportation duties
Required Minimum Education and Training
- Matric
- Valid Driver’s Licence (Code B / Code 8) and PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) – mandatory
- Computer literacy (MS Word and Excel) or willingness to learn
- Dangerous Goods Licence to transport biological samples will be highly advantageous
Required Minimum Work Experience
- 1–2 years’ experience working as a driver
